What is a circle, and what will we do?

Women's circles are an ancient practice , found across many cultures, which brings women together, traditionally in sync with moon cycles.

A women’s circle is a safe and sacred space created intentionally for women to gather. It is a space where women can come together, with the intention of making women feel seen, safe, heard, held and witnessed on their journeys throughout life.

It is a space free of judgement, competition, expectation, pressure or noise. It is a space void of the demands of the outside world; a space for women to go inwards, to reconnect, to return home, a refuge from the push + pull of modern life.

The practice started at a time when humans were more in sync with nature and lived in communal societies – and a sense of longing for this simpler past is bringing women back to circles as a way of connecting and creating a sense of togetherness.

You can expect:

  • An opening meditation to ground us and quieten buzz of the day we have just had.

  • A warm welcome, and acknowledgement of each member of the circle.

  • Introduction of the host and the theme for the circle, with what to expect and how to contribute, if you choose.

  • Opportunity for members to share their voice, and their experience, if they feel comfortable.

  • Invitation for an activity to spark conversation, foster commuity and allow space for reflection.

  • Further sharing of experiences, learnings, insights, and opportunity to connect further with each other over a cup of tea.

  • Closing meditation of gratitude.

Why are we doing this?

In modern life, it is easy to feel diconnected, to lose community and experience isolation and loneliness. Women traditionally are the creators of community and connection and this is an invitation to come back to this.

This is a community space, places where women can gather and be seen and listened to, and discuss topics and matters that impact us - and where we may otherwise not be able to talk through. Ultimately, this is a reset for your mind and soul, to allow yourself to be acknowledged, heard, - or just to be in the company of other women.

Where: Crystal Wonderland, 30 Lobelia Drive, Altona North.
